A freaky, fantastic retail experience—every October!

Hailing from the creepiest corners of Memphis, Tennessee— Monster Market is a freaky annual pop-up shop, appearing each October to bring you a new curated collection of weird art, hand-plucked oddities, strange apparel, and bizarre home decor!

Each year, we source a new curated Monster Market collection with work from makers of all kinds: designers, illustrators, printmakers, painters, sculptors, ceramicists, writers, jewelers, metalworkers, felters, bleach banshees, resin gremlins, tufters, crafters, stitchers, and more!

Monster Market has materialized in many different ways— as an in-person shop at three different addresses (2017-19), as a virtual pop-up during the height of the pandemic (2020-21), as a cautious mutant-IRL/virtual hybrid (2022), and once even as a pop-up within a pop-up (our Mini-Mart at the Creative Works Vendor Market in 2022)!

Think you got what it takes to be a Monster Maker?

We build a new roster of makers of all kinds from all over the country for each iteration of our Monster Market pop-up! Some makers return each year, some come and go as the creativity and time align, and we accept new friends every year! If you’re interested in selling your work with us for our 2023 Monster Market pop-up, please check out the Apply page for more information about the kind of work we’re looking for and the timeline you can expect as a maker.

Raised from the dead, but once a year…

An annual tradition, 6 years in the making.

Monster Market had been an in-person pop-up event for 3 years running, but 2020 had other plans for us all. Not wanting to become another cancelled event in the wake of Covid-19, we instead made the decision to adapt to an online format for 2020 and 2021. Then in 2022, we hosted our first hybrid year!— an in-person kick-off party followed by a solid month of our online shop, sending out hundreds of hand-packed orders all over the country!

While we loved being able to deliver Monster Market goodies to weirdos all over the U.S., we’re ditching our virtual pop-up this year for a multi-day pop-up shop experience, and we can’t wait to see you all in-person again! Stay tuned for more— and check out our past adventures below!
