Fully virtual for the first time!

In the face of real-life monster COVID-19, I've made the decision to adapt Monster Market to an online model this year. It's critically important that right now we listen to the voices of scientists & doctors over those of politicians & restaurant owners. The data that we have makes it very clear to me that there is no safe or ethically responsible way to host an in-person retail event any time soon.

But rather than add to the list of postponed market events left in the wake of 2020 so far, this year your favorite annual pop-up will take place virtually. We will still be open from October 1-31st, and we will still carry a curated collection of strange, offbeat, alternative goods made by independent makers and small brands from all over the country. The only difference is we'll be open for browsing 24/7, accessible to way more folks, and delivering right to your door! I can't wait to see it all come together, and share with all y'all.

Stay weird (and safe),

How does a virtual Monster Market work?

This is uncharted territory for sure, but I don’t shy away from a good challenge. Monster Market pop-ups are always comprised of a few key components, and we’re finding ways to adapt as many of them as possible.

While we make gorgeous yellow lemonade out of the lemons of 2020, we will be gearing our inventory this year more towards small shippable items, with fewer delicate/fragile pieces, and more flat, mailable items. This year, with the criteria will be so narrow and the roster a bit more restricted, there will be no formal application process— Instead, please use the form below to suggest a maker that creates work or items you think would fit in at Monster Market. You can suggest as many as you like, and yes— you can totally suggest yourself!
